POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS
PBIS is a way in which Eli Whitney creates systems to improve the school climate and
support the academic and behavioral needs of all students. Our PBIS program is based
on our core values and beliefs about what we want our school to become. Our staff
have spent the time examining our values and turning our discussions into
expectations—for us and our students. We’ve begun teaching those expectations to
our students, expressing what it looks like and feels like to be Whitney Wolves. We
Lead the PACK! We’re Positive, Accountable, Caring, and Kind! We look to recognize
our students for exemplifying these values. We are beginning to see and feel our
students’ excitement as we launch our PBIS program. Listen at home for the language
of our school’s values and expectations. And please don’t be alarmed if our students
howl occasionally! Consider it school spirit!
PBIS MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of Whitney School’s school-wide PBIS program is to teach, model, and
recognize the positive beliefs and actions that make our students successful, and our
school culture thrive. We continuously develop and implement consistent, positive
school-wide expectations.
